This year is totally throwing me off with the late Thanksgiving. I’ve been slowly adding Christmas decor around the house, but since we put up a real tree, the decorations won’t be complete until the first week in December. I obviously did not want to wait that long. Christmas music has been playing in the house and we’ve already watched Home Alone and Elf. So all these little touches puts us in the Christmas spirit for a longer amount of time.
One of my favorite touches this year was this faux eucalyptus garland. I had it up for Fall as part of my harvest/ autumnal decor. Then after Halloween, I simply removed the pumpkins and added a few evergreen trees. Little by little, I slowly started adding more little touches. I’ve been seeing lots of bottle brush trees and scooped a few up from Nordstrom Rack and Target. For the final look, I added a few wintery throw pillows. I love how they easily turn a room into holiday mode.
In my dreams, I would love to completely outfit every bedroom in the house with holiday decor. When I get a holiday Potterybarn catalogue, I imagine changing the kids bedsheets to Tartan and adding a tree in every room. We’re not there yet, but maybe one day!!
I did however add some Christmas decor to my master bedroom. The dark hunter green accents make it feel like Christmas all year round! So I just added some lights, boxwood garland, and throw pillows.
Once we get the live tree items, I’ll share some more updates. We always wait until the kids’ school has their Christmas Tree and Holiday sale. I fully intend to hang my holiday cards on the staircase with real cedar garland and ribbon just like last year {check it out in this post}. The kids loving seeing it on display. Also, if you’re looking for info on the everyday furniture and decor head to this Living Room Reveal post and this Master Bedroom post.
It seems like planning for holiday decor comes to the forefront of my mind each year. If you’re already thinking about all the trappings for this Christmas, I hope this post helps.
Also, if you end up purchasing any of these holiday decor items, I would love to see how you styled them! Tag me on Instagram, leave a comment below or pin these images on Pinterest. I love seeing how this amazing community shares and inspires.
Happy decorating this year!!!

Kellie
