I did a quick run over to grab some sweaters and thought I would share my fall outfit try on session with you! To be honest, I haven’t spent this much time in the mall since I was in high school. So much of my shopping is online, which overall works out for me. But sometimes it’s nice to touch and feel clothes and come home with something you know works. I did a few stops – Nordstrom, H&M, Zara, Ann Taylor, Loft and a few kids stores. The greatest success was at H&M, where I picked up a few sweaters for myself and a cute outfit for Marielle.
Each year I like to add a few new sweaters to the mix. Inevitably, one of the kids leaves a stain on one of my favorite knits, which is the main reason I need to update. I try to keep sweaters around for as long as I can! I stick with the neutrals – creams, caramels, grays and blacks, which I find last the longest.
This Free People Sweater was really pretty and soooo soft. I also tried on a bralet. To be honest, I’m still contemplating this look, and think I do need some bralets in my life. That day, I just wasn’t ready.
Next up in my fall outfit try on session: a striped turtle neck. This one from Madewell was really fun and under $40. However, I don’t do bell sleeves. Years ago when Jeff and I were dating, I wore a bell sleeved top and he still to this day will say look “witchy”. Or I’m headed to a Stevie Nicks concert. It’s not worth the aggravation. The look did inspire me though. A striped turtleneck is a perfect mom uniform staple. I found some others like this one and this one that may work better for me.
This is where the magic happened! I picked up a few fall sweaters that I think I’m stocked up now.
I have already worn the first outfit – to the pumpkin patch this past weekend! Also, I purchased these dark denim skinny jeans. They really suck you in and are a nice contract with the sweaters.
Thats it for now! Let me know your thoughts on these hauls. Want to see more of them? If so, what stores? Comment below!
