Happy Monday everyone! I’m kicking off this first Monday Motivation series with some wellness, life updates, and goal setting favorites of mine. We’re less than 75 days left in the decade so time to make these last weeks count!!
Halloween is almost here which is usually the gateway to the Holiday slide. You know, when you just start to let good habits slide and let loose? A co-worker brings in excess Halloween candy and you start a candy bar a day habit. Then it’s Thanksgiving and you just need to overfill your plate with each family member’s signature dish. Soon you are booked for a Christmas party every weekend and exercising all those calories away just seems too exhausting. Am I right?
But you got this! This time of year is a time of celebration. However, being mindful and balanced will truly keep your spirits afloat.
One of my favorite foods, BUTTERNUT SQUASH, is the highlight of the season! Not only is it super tasty, it’s also good source of fiber, potassium, and several other key nutrients. More good news…it is beneficial for digestion, blood pressure, and for healthy skin and hair, among others.
A few ideas for adding butternut squash into your meals including adding to soups, my favorite Kale with Butternut Squash and Chickpea salad, and even these favorite raviolis from Costco.
I am huge Rachel Hollis fan. I listen to her podcast and read Girl, Wash Your Face. Recently she did an episode on goal setting that really changed things for me. I have been writing goals and mantras in a journal for almost three years now. But, after listening to the way Rachel does it, I’ve felt like I’ve truly grown.
The key is to not write down goals that you want to happen, but as if they are already happening. For example, don’t write or think: I will reach my goal weight by the end of the year; I will have a job that inspires me; I will have enough money to pay for the excess funds the holidays require.
Rather replace those statements with: Everyday I am making healthy choices for my body; I have the power to create the life I want; I am grateful for the abundance I have and the abundance that is to come; My income increases constantly; I am wealthy in more ways than one.
This kind of goal setting also has a wellness aspect to it. You are empowering yourself to make the choices that will push you forward. All while being kind to yourself. This is all about forming positive thoughts and actions, not obtaining perfection.
Eeek!! I finally hit 10k followers on FBM!! I’m so excited for achieving this milestone. It’s taken a while and I’m so happy for the journey. The best part is that swipe up feature to help you all easily shop my finds!!
I am totally in the gifting mindset and can’t wait to share these adorable and oh so luxurious body butters this holiday! The Citrus Mimosa Body Butter is one of my cold winter essentials. These special holiday ones are three new scents and the perfect size for stocking stuffers and hostesses gifts. Check out more clean beauty gifts in this post.
October is breast cancer awareness month which is a good reminder to get up to date with your medical checkups. I recently had my annual physical but also scheduled my final dentist appointment for the year {make sure yours also checks for throat and mouth cancers}, and a derm appointment . Early prevention is key so stay on top your health!
