Yesterday was Mother’s Day and here in Washington, it was rainy and dreary. One of those days you just want to curl up under a blanket and watch Netflix. But we had to venture out a little on my special day and we weren’t going to let a little rain stop us. So I threw on my boots for a little outside time. The kids went to Eastern Market to pick up some flowers for me and made handmade cards. When Jeff brought home a red velvet cupcake, Sam wanted to know when “Boy’s Day” was because he wanted a turn.
While I love my sunny days, I enjoy when a rainy day pops up over the weekend. During the week, a rainy day school drop off is just the pits. But on a Sunday, after a busy week, that feeling that you should stay inside and rest is needed sometimes. On these days, I like to go makeup free. I just wash my face with water, do my facial roller then it’s serum, moisturizer, facial oil and a spritz of mist. I stay like that the whole day and end it with my weekly baby facial routine.
But sometimes I have to leave the house, or even look presentable for guests coming over. On those days, you need some functional pieces that are comfortable and will keep you dry.
